Safeguarding & eSafety
BackSafeguarding is defined as:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing impairment of children’s health and/or development
- ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes (Working Together to Safeguard Children DfE, 2018, pg.6).
Every member of the school community has the responsibility to work together to ensure that the welfare of our students is paramount, therefore there is a suite of documents and policies which relate to the safeguarding responsibilities of the school.
In particular these policies should be read:
- the Behaviour Policy
- the Child Protection Policy
- the safeguarding response to children who go missing from education and
- the role of the designated safeguarding lead (including the identity of the designated safeguarding lead and deputies).
