Chapel
The Chapel of St Dominic lies at the heart of St Michael’s Catholic School. The chaplaincy is open throughout the school day and students and staff are welcome to visit at any time. The school has a full time Chaplain Fr. Benedict Baka who works alongside students and staff encouraging, supporting and helping to create a deeply spiritual environment within our school community.
SERVICES
All services are currently on hold due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Mass is celebrated every day during the lunch break at 1.15.p.m.
Whole school Masses take place during important feast days in the Church’s calendar and are also celebrated by priests from our local parishes. This helps strengthen our ties with our local pastors working in parishes where a good number of our students attend weekend masses.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated particularly during Advent and Lent. Apart from the season of Advent and Lent, the chaplain is available every day for anybody who desires to go to confession. Mindful of the importance of spirituality in St. Michael’s, the chapel is equally open to both staff and students for other devotional prayer times include the Rosary and Adoration.
Each year group has an assembly in the Chapel once a week and both students and staff are involved in the preparation and delivery of the assembly on a selected religious theme.
